The Annual Review Process for faculty members and academic staff (see Article XX of the AAUP-AFT contract) on term-appointments is intended to provide feedback to mentor faculty and academic staff members and assess their progress toward tenure (where available) or as preparation for contract renewal for non-tenure track faculty. This review delineates areas of progress as well as areas of concern. The annual review process is intended to assist the faculty or academic staff member prepare for their continued success at Wayne State University. Note: Tenured faculty do not receive an annual review.
Departments are required to submit annual reviews for each FTE and FTA term-appointed faculty member and each academic staff member to the Office of Faculty Affairs. Copies should also be retained by the department/unit within the individual's departmental personnel file.
