Full-Time Affiliate (FTA) Appointments

Full-Time-Affiliate (FTA) faculty assist in the mission of educating medical students and supporting the University's basic missions of teaching, scholarship, and service. FTA faculty are individuals who are employed by a WSU affiliate (Ascension Health System, Beaumont Hospital-Dearborn, Detroit Medical Center Hospitals, Henry Ford Health System, John D. Dingell VA Medical Center). 

FTA faculty are not eligible for employee benefits and are also not represented by the AAUP-AFT, but are subject to the same policies as payroll faculty.  FTA faculty may also serve on SOM committees.  Standards for appointment and promotion are based on track and rank and apply to both FTE and FTA faculty.
