Annual Review Program
The Annual Review Process for faculty members and academic staff (see Article XX of the AAUP-AFT contract) on term-appointments - is intended to provide feedback to mentor faculty and academic staff members and assess their progress toward tenure or as preparation for contract renewal for non-tenure track faculty. This review delineates areas of progress as well as areas of concern. The annual review process is intended to help the faculty or academic staff member better prepare for their continued success at Wayne State University. Note: Tenured faculty do not receive an annual review.
Departments are required to report that the Annual Review has been performed for each FTE and FTA term-appointed faculty member and each academic staff member. However, copies of the Annual Review are not submitted to the Office of Faculty Affairs. Copies should be retained by the department/unit within the individual's departmental personnel file.

The P&T Committee (or Chair if fewer than 3 tenured members in department) may use the CV; summary of teaching evaluations and summary of faculty member's activities as submitted for the Selective Salary Program or they may elect to solicit other information from the faculty member to complete the written review.

Full-Time Affiliates (FTA) are term appointed members of the WSU School of Medicine faculty and will be evaluated through the Annual Review process to support the faculty member's professional development and the University's need for regular assessments. Review FTA Annual Review Policy.
